Holiday Gift Guide: Spa-Style Shower Gifts, by Budget

Short version: a shower head is a gift that gets used every day, and an Aroma Sense head arrives with a vitamin C cartridge and microfiber filters already included. Here is how to pick one, by budget, and what to check first so it fits the person you are buying for.

Check these three things before you buy

  • Wall-mounted or handheld? Wall-mounted heads (Wall Mounted, Jet, Rainfall) screw onto the existing shower arm, which makes them the simplest swap. Handheld heads (Medium, Large, Prestige, Luxe) are more flexible but need to fit the shower hose, which is why several of our handheld kits include a hose and bracket. Not sure which suits them?   • Chlorine or chloramine? Our vitamin C cartridges are designed for free chlorine, not chloramine. If you can, ask the recipient (or their water utility) which disinfectant their water uses. Well water vs city water explains the difference.
  • What it does not do. A vitamin C cartridge does not soften hard water. It neutralizes free chlorine, the microfiber filter traps rust, dirt and sediment, and the cartridge adds a scent.

Gift ideas by budget

Under about $60: a refill for someone who already owns one

If the person already has an Aroma Sense shower head, vitamin C cartridges are an easy, useful gift. Handheld cartridges come in 3-packs (and singly for the Luxe) and wall-mounted ones singly, in scents including lavender, lemon, citrus mango, vanilla, jasmine, eucalyptus and pine, plus an unscented Neutral. Cartridges only fit Aroma Sense heads, so match handheld or wall-mounted to their head.

About $120 to $145: a shower head on its own

A shower head includes 1 vitamin C cartridge and 1 to 2 microfiber filters, so it works as soon as it is installed. The Jet Wall Mounted and the Medium Handheld start at about $119, and the Wall Mounted at about $144. Handheld heads may need a hose and bracket to match the recipient’s shower.

About $155 to $270: a starter kit

Starter kits bundle the shower head with extra cartridges and microfiber filters, in a choice of scent, which makes them the most complete gift. The Medium, Large and Prestige handheld kits include a hose and bracket. Each product page lists exactly what is in the box.

Choosing a scent

Scent is personal. If you do not know their taste, the unscented Neutral cartridge avoids the guesswork, and they can switch to a favorite scent with their next cartridge.

Good to know

  • Installation: about five minutes on a standard ½-inch connection, with no plumber needed for most bathrooms (install guide).
  • Keeping it fresh: cartridges are used up over time; our product pages say handheld cartridges within 30 to 45 days and wall-mounted within 60 to 90 days (replacement guide).
  • Shipping: U.S. orders ship free at $100 or more. Orders are packed in 1 to 2 business days, so order early for the holidays.
  • Returns: unused items can be returned within 30 days with an RMA number from us first. For hygiene reasons, opened cartridges cannot be returned.
